What a year!
After a long delayed refurbishment we were so happy to finally turn our lights on and open our doors on the 14th September 2020. Opening during a pandemic we had no idea what to expect and we would be lying if we said we weren’t nervous or anxious. But you blew us away! This year has surpassed everything we dreamt of and more. With queues out of the door, even in the rain and cold waiting to grab a seat! This year has surpassed everything we dreamt of and more.
We knew opening during a pandemic we would have to adapt and overcome to each situation that would arise. When the second lockdown came the whole team were a bit relieved to have a breather but we couldn’t stay away for long. We opened our door up after only two weeks, moved our cake stand to make a hatch and started serving takeaways. We were not expecting to be busy and simply wanted to be open, stay engaged with our customers and offer a friendly smile and chat at the door for those that needed it during the hard days. But again you blew us away! The queues never stopped, our cake stand was emptied every single day and we literally turned into Coorie bakery. We built up our online shop for afternoon teas and treat boxes and started to do deliveries- we had to even close our online shop for Mothers Day as it was becoming overwhelming the number of orders we were receiving!
The whole team were buzzing to reopen after lockdown. Team Coorie is what makes Coories. Everyday is filled with laughter, fun, dancing, singing along with support and love. I cannot thank the team enough for their dedication, energy and fun that they bring Coories. Brunches, lunches, coffees and cakes have been served all day every day since lockdown. We have even managed to squeeze in a few themed pop up nights and private events into our first year. The Coorie hotel has had an incredible season being fully occupied and it has been so lovely to be giving Scottish hospitality to our guests again.
We have been overwhelmed daily by the love and support you have given us. Thank you to everyone who has walked through our doors, liked and shared our posts, recommended us and making us smile every day since we opened.
